The annual Regional Agricultural Societies conference was held at the Claremont Showgrounds on 1st May organised by RASWA. Over 50 committee members and representatives from 28 regional societies attended the annual event which was opened by RASWA President Paul Carter.
There were six presentations over the day’s conference covering a wide range of topics of interest, which included information and advice on how to source, apply for and be successful in attaining regional and community grants; discussion and obligations around livestock identification and traceability; changes in the social media platforms, targeted demographic advertising and geo-location posts; insights into the workings of a sideshow operations with discussions around the importance of carnival operations at regional shows and the requirements and responsibilities of event organisers when applying for an occasional liquor licence for temporary events.
The Chairman of SA, Dr Rob Wilson also presented, informing the delegates about the operations of ASA and the aims and opportunities for the business across the country.
