ASA is pleased to share a new member benefit made possible through an MOU with the Australian Centre for Regional Events, giving show societies and state bodies more practical support, connection and confidence in delivering their events.

Through this partnership, current ASA members can access a 50% discount on annual and monthly Eventfolk memberships. In 2026, this means eligible show societies can join Eventfolk for $17.50 per month or $149.50 per year for the first 100 annual subscriptions, with the standard discounted annual subscription then available at $175 per year. Eventfolk has been developed as a national community for regional and rural event organisers. It is designed to help organisers move away from feeling like they are doing it all alone by providing a place to connect with people who understand the realities of running community events, share practical solutions, ask questions and access support that is relevant to regional event delivery.

For show societies, this is especially valuable. AgShows are often delivered by passionate volunteers and small teams who manage everything from compliance, risk, budgeting and sponsors through to volunteers, marketing, programming and community expectations.

Eventfolk provides access to peer-to-peer support, shared wisdom, expert knowledge, member discussions, practical tools and advocacy for the regional events sector.

The benefit also extends beyond individual show societies. ASA and each state body will receive one complimentary 12-month Eventfolk membership, helping state representatives stay connected to the platform, contribute to discussions and support stronger communication across the show movement. State bodies will receive a direct email providing login details to access the platform.

If the AgShow membership reaches more than 40 Eventfolk members, ASA members will also have access to a dedicated subgroup within the platform. This will give show societies a private space to connect with each other, share ideas, raise common challenges, coordinate support and build stronger links between local shows, state bodies and the national network.

This MOU is a meaningful step in strengthening the support available to agricultural shows. By making Eventfolk more affordable and accessible, it gives show societies an opportunity to tap into a wider community of regional event organisers, reduce isolation, learn from others and contribute to a stronger collective voice for regional events across Australia.
