I grew up on our family farm and have always been around agriculture. Attending the agricultural college of Cunderdin gave me the opportunity to participate in shows around the state leading up to the Royal Show in Perth
My first judging competition was at the 2018 Wagin Woolarama. The ag school would allow us to go to shows to compete. Being on our farm has helped but I received a lot of guidance from Mr Wayne Laird at the ag school.
My favourite show is Wagin Woolarama because the sheep are always well presented there. Winning the Perth Royal show novice shearing and merino sheep judging has to be my personal show highlight. The lowlight was the time, during judging, when I forgot to turn the microphone on!

Agricultural Shows Australia wishes Kurt all the best at the Ekka.
