What a start to my role as 2021 National Rural ambassador it has been.

Since April I have attend the Royal Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth shows meeting numerous kind and welcoming people.

My time started out with a trip to the west where myself and other state finalists caught up with Josh Antonio (WA National finalist), as well as checking out various facets of differing industries which included meeting past national rural ambassador Harris Thompson.

We then ventured out to western QLD and met Teri Somerfield (QLD national finalist) and her father on Canegrass Station. We followed that wholesome remarkable experience up with a day at the EKKA which included helping with the YFC and attending the Gala dinner.

A few months later I rolled into the Royal Adelaide Show which was a tremendous success and extremely well supported by the SA public. I look forward to seeing Courtney Higgs compete at nationals next year as the SA Finalist, she is an exceptional young woman with great passion and will continue to do herself and SA proud. There has been no rest though since the Adelaide show, jetting off to Perth just weeks after the Royal Adelaide Show where I was honoured to spend 3 days with the WA RA finalists and interview them on their awards night. It was fantastic to see each of them develop and grow, they should all be exceptionally proud of themselves. WA, and in particular Kelly Gorter and Anne Stoud were extremely accommodating, and I thoroughly enjoyed helping you both while there.

My year didn’t slow up from there, Hannah and myself were blessed with the safe arrival of our baby boy Wyatt Martin Milde on the 22/10/22 which thankfully happened a few weeks prior to my first Eudunda and Districts Show as President. The day was a tremendous success considering we had three inches of rain either side of show day.

I am truly blessed to work alongside a dedicated committee, we continue to work together and strive to create a must attend event each year. If your ever free on the second Sunday in November and fancy a trip to the mid north of South Australia, we would love to have you here.

I look forward to attending more royals and events in the coming months through this amazing role as National Rural Ambassador.
