We are thrilled to reflect on the success of the 2024 National Finals, held this year at the Melbourne Royal. We extend our thanks to the Melbourne Royal for their exceptional hospitality and dedication. Their staff worked tirelessly to ensure each aspect of the event ran smoothly, showcasing professionalism and commitment to a successful event.
A special thank you to the sponsors who made the 2024 National Finals possible. Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) generously sponsored the National Merino Sheep Young Judges Championship and the National Merino Fleece Young Judges Championship, supporting the next generation of wool industry leaders. The inaugural Grain Young Judges Championship was proudly sponsored by Lawson Grains, and Cattle Australia sponsored the National Beef Young Judges Championship, further enriching the competition with invaluable opportunities for young judges.
We also extend our gratitude to The Cattle Shop, who provided halters to the winners of the National Meat Breeds Sheep Championship and National Dairy Paraders, along with a cane awarded to the National Beef Parader winner.
In an exciting addition, this year marked the first time that the National Final for the Australian Young Farmer Challenge was held alongside the other National Finals. Congratulations to Western Australia for their triumphant victory, showcasing incredible skill and teamwork in this highly competitive championship.
The National Rural Ambassador award was especially fierce this year, with five outstanding competitors from South Australia, Victoria, Tasmania, Western Australia, and Queensland. A huge congratulations to Lachlan Johnson for being named the 2024 National Rural Ambassador. An introduction to Lachie and his impressive journey will be featured in a separate article in The Ring.
We extend our congratulations to all involved in the 2024 National Finals and look forward to seeing the continued growth and success of these competitions.
