The 2022 Royal Adelaide Show campaign was based on the premise of South Australia’s biggest reunion. It was a nine-day event, held for the first time in three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic and was an outstanding success.
Attracting 440,000 people through the gates and recording 25,117 competitive entries from 61 sections. Early indications are that the average spend per head increased over 20% compared to 2019. Commercial exhibitors including carnival and showbag operators have reported record breaking trade with an average length of stay for attendees north of seven hours.
The recently developed Adelaide Showground Caravan Park successfully transformed to the Royal Show horse precinct, receiving overwhelming positive feedback from the Show-horse community.
The Show entertainment program included six stages focusing on South Australian musicians, solo artists, bands, and acrobatic acts receiving rave reviews from Show goers. The fireworks, choreographed to live music and accompanied by a digeridoo player was the largest fireworks display in the Royal Adelaide Show’s history.
Overall, the 2022 Royal Adelaide Show was welcomed back in style by the South Australian public and has provided a strong base from which we can build for future Shows.
