2024 marks the 160th Molong Show. The Molong Show has been held on a Sunday for a considerable number of years, however this year will be held on a Saturday, the 7th of September.
Highlights of the show include a MASSIVE Fireworks display, which will be the conclusion to an evening of entertainment, with live music by Heart and Hustle, from 5pm.
Trundle Troop 6th Light Horse Brigade will ride into the show to officially herald the start of the 160th show, shortly before the official opening at 12.30pm. The show will be formally opened by Official Guest John Bennett OAM the President of the RAS.
SHOW RIDES – and this is written in capitals because it’s really exciting – the Society has managed to secure Dodgem Cars and a Haunted House – two rides that haven’t been seen at the show for years.
Easy Dogs are back – not seen at the show for years, but they are back.
At 2pm Molong’s local ‘fashion’ businesses, will showcase their wares and fashion with a fashion parade. Molong and surrounding businesses have also come together to form a co-op stall where local businesses will promote and sell their products.
The Showground shares its site with the Molong Golf Club and Molong Disc Golf Club. Without their support the show would not ‘go on’. During the day patrons will have an opportunity to try Disc Golf.
A new event is the Community Games – fun entertainment for the whole family. AND you can enter your dog too in the Dog High Jump Competition at 4pm.
Our pavilion team are working together to design a unique centre piece for the main pavilion that celebrates the achievements and history of the show. Molong’s local quilters club have made a quilt celebrate 160 years which will be unveiled and on display in the main pavilion.
If you have ever wanted to be a better photographer there is a Photography Workshop at 3pm. Something any budding exhibitor should not miss.
More information about the show can be found on our Website, our Facebook page and Instagram. We can’t wait to see everybody there and would welcome anyone to the show. The show officially opens to the public at 11am, with Easy Dogs, Horses events, and Yard Dog Trials starting from 8am.
