As his tenure as the 2023 National Rural Ambassador comes to an end, Reece Jerrett has left an indelible mark on the agricultural show community across Australia. Throughout the past year, Reece has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to promoting agricultural shows and rural life, sharing his deep knowledge and passion for all things agricultural—especially his love for poultry exhibiting.
Reece’s journey as the National Rural Ambassador saw him attend numerous Royal Shows around the country, where he proudly represented the agricultural show movement. Whether it was engaging with local communities, supporting young exhibitors, or sharing his insights into poultry breeding and showing, Reece’s enthusiasm was unwavering.
One of the highlights of Reece’s ambassadorship was his participation in the Royals of the Commonwealth Conference held in Edinburgh, Scotland. During this international event, Reece had the opportunity to attend both the Royal Highland Show and the Lincolnshire Show in the UK. This experience provided him with valuable opportunities to network with fellow emerging leaders and agricultural professionals from around the Commonwealth. The conference, combined with his attendance at these prestigious international shows, offered Reece a platform to exchange ideas and explore how agricultural shows are run overseas, adding new perspectives to his already rich experience in the Australian show circuit.
Reflecting on his year, Reece expressed immense gratitude for the opportunity to serve as National Rural Ambassador. “It’s been an incredible year of learning, connecting, and sharing my passion for agriculture,” Reece said. “The support from the agricultural show community has been overwhelming, and I’m excited to continue my involvement in the years to come.”
Reece’s dedication to the agricultural show movement is far from over. He will continue to contribute to the industry through his passion for poultry exhibiting, as well as assisting the Royal Perth Show.
As Reece’s time as National Rural Ambassador concludes, Agricultural Shows Australia (ASA) extend their thanks for his commitment to the role. With his vast knowledge, drive, and love for rural life, there is no doubt that Reece will remain a prominent figure in the show movement for years to come.
ASA wishes Reece all the best in his future endeavours and looks forward to seeing him continue to inspire and lead within the agricultural show circuit.
