In March ASA wrote to Minister Littleproud outlining the impact of cancellation of agricultural shows resulting from the social distancing and closure of events across the country. This subsequently became a formal submission for financial support for all Ag Shows based on a formulae that would compensate for fixed overhead costs and unrecoverable direct show costs.

The submission highlighted and emphasised the economic, community and cultural significance that Ag Shows contributes to local, State and National economies as well as the essential role that shows provide for, and involve, such a vast stakeholder groups in country towns, regional areas and the country overall.
